THE NEED

There are more than 1,760 youth in Sacramento, Nevada, and Placer counties who will grow up in foster care and “emancipate” (age out of at age 18) the system without a familyunless we help them.
(Sacramento, Nevada, and Placer counties)

Within two to four years of aging out of the foster care system, 51% of foster youth are unemployed, 25% are homeless, and 40% have been incarcerated.
(The Office of the Governor of California)

Of the children leaving foster care at age 18, 50% do not complete high school and 60% of young women have a child within four years.
(The California Partnership for Children)
